When I first started out on my venture of making art for other people to look at I often found myself gravitating toward darker subject matter. Faeries have always made up the majority of what I paint, but much of pop culture glazes over the darker side of the fae. It has always seemed natural to me that these things should go together.

Of course people told me no one would buy my art because no one wanted to look at scary things all the time. I initially thought this was probably true and tried to steer away from painting vampires, werewolves, and other gothic visions, but it never stuck. I could never stay away from it for very long.

Over the years my gothic paintings have proven to be pretty popular and have been featured in books, magazines, and calendars around the world. I guess people do like scary things, after all.
